Terms of service
Last updated
These terms apply when you create a Customer Bits account or send data to its API. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you may bind it.
Who you are dealing with
Customer Bits is operated as individual activity (individuali veikla) registered in the Republic of Lithuania under certificate no. 913953. “We” and “us” below mean the holder of that certificate.
Reach us at [email protected].
What the service is
Customer Bits stores and returns the customer-facing pieces a product would otherwise rebuild: feedback capture and in-app quizzes today. Your backend calls it with a project API key; it is not called directly by your end users.
Features described as planned are planned. Nothing on this site is a commitment to build or to keep any particular feature.
Your account
Give accurate registration details and keep your password and project API keys secret. An API key is shown once, when it is created, and identifies the project that holds it, so anything done with it counts as done by you. Tell us promptly if one leaks and we will help you rotate it.
You are responsible for what the people you invite to your company do in the console.
What you may not do
- Break the law, or use the service to help someone else do so.
- Try to reach another tenant’s data, probe for weaknesses without asking first, or work around the rate limits.
- Send us special category data under Article 9 - health, biometrics, political or religious views and the rest - or children’s data. The service is not built for it.
- Send malware, or content you have no right to send.
Security research is welcome if you tell us first at [email protected] and give us a reasonable chance to fix what you find.
Your data stays yours
You keep every right in the data you send. We store and return it on your instructions, which makes you its controller and us your processor: we do not use it for our own ends, we do not sell it, and we do not train anything on it.
Getting it out is a normal feature, not a favour: the API and the console’s export give you your data at any time. If you close your account, tell us and we delete it.
Handling of your own account data is described in the privacy policy.
Availability, honestly stated
The service is new and runs on a single deployment. It is offered as it is, with no promised uptime figure, because a number invented for a terms page is a promise we would break rather than a commitment you could rely on. Deploys cause short interruptions.
We do take care of it: the database is backed up nightly, changes ship only after the test suite passes, and a failed release is rolled back. If you need a contractual service level, ask and we will discuss one separately.
What we are liable for
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Beyond that, and because the service is currently provided without charge, our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue or lost data to the extent the law allows that exclusion. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Ending it
You may stop using the service and close your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that puts the service or other tenants at risk; except where the risk is immediate, we tell you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we discontinue the service, we give at least 30 days’ notice so you can export your data.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top changes with them, and material changes are emailed to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them; if you do not, close your account.
Which law applies
Lithuanian law governs these terms, and the courts of the Republic of Lithuania have jurisdiction. If you deal with us as a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
